A Moment of Unity for a Humble and Proud Iwi when we celebrate
TE HUI AHUREI O TUHOE
Our moment, Our time, united at home for five Glorious Days. The Ahurei began in 1970 as a result of Kaumatua from Tuhoe who came together to hui about the future of Tuhoe Rangatahi to encourage them always to hold onto their identity and Mana and to never let it go. We acknowledge our Kaumatua who met from Te Tira Hou in Auckland, Tuhoe ki Poneke and Whanau from the Home land in Tuhoe. With so humble a beginning in sporting festivities, our Rangatahi are now able to maintain and hold their Tuhoe relationship links firmly in place
